Buying flowers is the perfect go-to for moms. Fortunately, Toronto is filled with flower shops on and offline.
Tonic Blooms is a great spot to find a minimal selection, but of superior quality. All flowers are wrapped in the signature denim and they do deliver within the city limits.
Wilbe Bloomin is located in Kensington Market, but it does deliver, too. The selection is pretty large with tons of options for those rose-loving moms out there.
Sweet Pea’s has an eclectic mix of flora for you to choose from. The bouquets are voluminous and look like something out of a Victorian-era painting.
Botany Flowers has some intensely beautiful arrangements that need to be pre-ordered. If you will be seeing your mom after Mother’s Day, this is a great option, too.
Maybe your mom is allergic to flowers or would prefer to spend some quality time with you instead. Taking mom out for brunch is almost as traditional as sending her flowers. There are a few places that could squeeze you in for a reservation, but make sure you call ahead!
Barsa Taberna is offering a Mother’s Day brunch fit for a queen. If mom is up for some Spanish fare without the trip, this is a great way to treat her. We have no idea what will be on the menu, but it is a preset one.
Ufficio is also serving up a special brunch for mom. If she loves Italian food, then this set menu will be exactly what she is looking for. Swordfish, porcini agnolotti, tiramisu and even more options.
Colette Grand Cafe is located in the King West neighbourhood at the bottom of the Thompson Hotel. If fancy is what you are going for, this cafe is a classic. Typically it holds a brunch buffet, but it’s not your average all-you-can-eat.
F’amelia, for those who are closer to the East End, is a great option. A prix fixe menu offers classic Italian food with a pizza as the main course. A casual, yet delicious choice.
If you want to treat your mom to a special event, there might be a few tickets left for some of these going-ons. There are a lot more options out there for food and gifts, but remember, it's the thought that counts.
