5 Brunch Spots That Will Help You Refuel After This Week

brunch

Good morning city dwellers! What a week it’s been. There’s no doubt that you are running on empty. What better way to get recharged than to fill your belly with an epic brunch? We put together a short list of some of the best brunch spots around the city. If you haven’t tried these spots then you should get moving, because they fill up fast.

  1. Aunties & Uncles: Quaintly tucked away off College Street is this diner-esque brunch shop that has all the nostalgia of childhood. They serve up a typical breakfast selection and a few sandwiches for those who favour lunch. A favourite spot in the city for so many.
  2. Saving Grace: Also a favourite among Torontonians. The folks at this spot show off their daily specials on a chalkboard. They feature meat, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. You will have to get there early as brunch (and the restaurant) closes at 2pm.
  3. Knuckle Sandwich: We need to give our friends at this East York joint a shout out for their newly released brunch menu. Homemade biscuits, poached pears, fried eggs and handmade hollandaise are different components to some delicious sandwiches. All made with a whole lot of love.
  4. Rose & Sons: One of Anthony Rose’s first solo ventures, this former diner-turned-trendy-diner consistently has a lineup out the door. The selection is meaty, rich and bountiful. It’s no wonder why they opened a second similar style location (Swan) on Queen West.
  5. The Bristol: Speaking of Queen West. If you haven’t ventured to The Bristol and tried the eggs benedict, you haven’t lived. They serve up some of the richest bennies in the city, perching poached eggs atop English-style scones.

There you have it. Now whatever ails you from the night or week before, go forth and refuel on some of the city’s best brunch spots. What spots would you add to the list?
